Primary Health Care
Primary Health Care includes five elements. Within these elements, Eligible Community Pharmacies can provide various services. An annual incentive payment will be paid to participating Eligible Community Pharmacies that meet the PPI Program requirements when providing Primary Health Care services.
The Primary Health Care elements are:
Eligible Community Pharmacies due for accreditation assessment/anniversary:
- on or after 1 July 2013 are required to have provided at least three services across more than one element under Primary Health Care in accordance with the PPI Program Specific Guidelines (November 2012).
or
- before 1 July 2013 are required to have provided (in the previous 12 months) at least two elements under Primary Health Care in accordance with the PPI Program Specific Guidelines (February 2012).
It is expected that the number of elements to be provided will continue to increase over the life of the 5CPA.
